Global Store Design
2020 - 2025

Innovation + Development at the British fragrance and lifestyle brand.

Line drawing of various baby crib and bed furniture including a cradle, bassinet, playpen, and crib on a black background.

I led Global Store Design initiatives and special projects at Jo Malone London, a brand renowned for elegant colognes, candles and bath & body products.

Interior of a luxury store or boutique with white walls, a sofa with stools, a modern chandelier, and a display table with various products, including candles and decorative items.

I designed new retail fixtures and formats to enhance the JML store experience. From fragrance Discovery Tables to seating, sinks, lighting and wall treatments.

Set of four beige stone or concrete planters of various shapes on a black background.
A three-dimensional digital illustration of a laboratory workbench with various scientific instruments and containers, including test tubes, bottles, and equipment, on a beige oval surface supported by a ribbed black and white cylindrical stand.

The store environment is inspired by late-Georgian architecture and London Townhouses. Each fixture and finish is an extension of the brand’s creative home at 52 Gloucester Place.

Every customer touch point was designed to enhance the storytelling of each scent. The types of projects involved with this ranged from small fragrance risers and display tables.

Storefront with the name Jo Malone London, featuring a window display with large pears and containers, and a dog sitting on a small wooden bench outside.

To entire one-off concept stores like JML Royal Exchange. This space tests a new palette of materials and fixings inspired by loft apartments, bars and private member’s clubs. It aims to elevate the Men’s product offering and steer future creative direction.

Interior of a store with dark walls and wooden shelves displaying various home decor and accessories. A spiral staircase with a digital artwork or large screen in the background. Hanging lantern-style lights and a small table with candles and a bird-shaped sculpture.

The projects aim to evolve the physical presence of the brand, provide enchanting moments for fragrance discovery and keep it relevant in a very competitive landscape.

I wanted to be considered a good craftsman.
I wanted my dresses to be constructed like buildings…

Retail Design
2015 - 2020

Design and project management of luxury concessions in UK + Ireland.

Dior cosmetics and lipstick display inside a store with black fixtures, illuminated signs, and promotional posters of women and skincare products.

Dior beauty is the makeup, fragrance and skincare line of the French fashion house. I designed concession areas for customers to discover the rich heritage, formulations and exceptional luxury of Dior cosmetics.

A rough architectural sketch of a building interior with multiple rooms, labeled areas, and notes, including stairs, walls, and paths.
Dior beauty kiosk inside a shopping mall with digital display screens showcasing makeup advertisements, illuminated pink and black structure, and makeup products displayed on counters.

I designed large concept spaces including the national rollout of Dior Backstage Studio: a premium makeup experience that captures the pre-show energy of the Dior catwalk.

A black Dior makeup display stand featuring lipsticks, foundation, and makeup brushes, with Dior signage and promotional images.

I was also challenged in condensing the brand offering onto small formats. I led the design strategy for a low-cost modular concept that allowed for expressive and adaptable layouts.

My time at the brand was during the peak of an acceleration plan for the UK + Ireland. I achieved over 60 unique sites, 10 Studios and the rollout of 50+ small formats.

Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.

Kitchen Design
2013 - 2015

Simple furniture, beautifully made by a renowned design-led manufacturer.

Modern kitchen with gray cabinetry, white marble countertops, a kitchen island with open shelving, a white tiled backsplash, a large wall clock, pendant lights, and hardwood flooring.

deVOL are designers + makers specialising in handmade English furniture. I held a customer-facing role, preparing room layouts and kitchen plans for deVOL’s cabinetry.

Black and white kitchen layout blueprint with labeled cabinets, appliances, and shelving.

I met customers at deVOL’s beautiful showrooms in Leicestershire and London and I helped guide them through details of the plan and the curated finishes and materials.

At deVOL I learned about the beauty of simplicity and authenticity. The role helped me investigate deeper customer needs and design living spaces that will be loved for many years.

Instagram
2013 - present

A personal portal of products, experiences and photography.

My Instagram feed curates objects that inspire me. From records + sneakers to the things I carry on me every day. These products are carefully selected and loved for their craft or associated memory.

Curved, modern subway or train station corridor with white panels and perforated metal ceiling panels.
A modern desk with a white top and orange pegboard back, featuring a small lamp and a book, positioned against a plain wall. A speaker with a black, yellow, and gray design is placed on top of the desk.
View through a rectangular doorway into an art installation featuring numerous orange or reddish blocks of various sizes arranged on a reflective surface.

But I’m more active on Instagram Stories where I highlight my photography of art, design, sneakers, records, London and other places.

Six green glass bottles on a wooden table, each holding a small plant with large green leaves.
A small island covered with greenery surrounded by calm blue ocean under a partly cloudy sky.

Content on IG Stories is only visible for 24 hours. It’s a great platform for me to diarise my photography and bookmark the things that inspire me.

ON PAPER

An offline hard copy of online stories.
2022 - present

A self-published mini newspaper of content taken from Instagram Stories.

Cover of magazine titled "ON PAPER," featuring a modern architectural spiral staircase against a blue sky with the subtitle "ISSUE 1."

ON PAPER is my printed journal of content from Instagram. It’s a more permanent platform to catalogue objects, spaces and design references.

Photo of two magazine pages showing modern architectural details: a green arched structure with vertical bars on the left and a brick column with a black clock on the right.

A few years ago, social media took a toll on my mental health and I took a break to clear my head. I found creating a newspaper provided a great offline experience to curate and form an archive I could hold.

Open book showing two pages; the left page has a photo of colorful ceramic sculptures resembling abstract buildings and shapes, with a caption about ceramic art; the right page shows a sculpture of a figure with a pink head, blue body, and long legs, with a caption about personal sculpture works.

Each issue showcases a handful of photo stories, amazing spaces and exhibitions.
It's a perfect shot of inspo for a coffee break and a place to get my thoughts down on paper.

Magazine display featuring the cover of 'On Paper' with a spiral staircase, surrounded by other magazines, including 'Provence,' 'Woof,' 'Out' Photography, and others on a magazine stand.
Books and pamphlets on a bookshelf, including titles related to urban design and living, with some visible titles being "ON PAPER", "The Monocle Guide to Building Better Cities", and "The Monocle Guide to Better Living".
Books and magazines displayed on wooden shelves.

ON PAPER was originally made for friends + family.
It is now stocked online, in magazine boutiques, retailers and coffee shops around London.
